Cuomo Campaign Visits Region PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 20 July 2010 06:51

The candidate with the huge bulge in the polls and bankroll in the race for governor nimbly stepped off the Gulfstream Tour RV he drove to his first local campaign stops, in Middletown and Monticello.

New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, accompanied by his three daughters, blasted the city where he works.

"We have to clean up Albany," he said Monday in that deep voice that echoes his father, former Gov. Mario Cuomo. "I have never seen it as bad as it is today. Enough is enough," he said at the Thrall Library in Middletown, in front of about 80 supporters, and later in the Ted Stroebele Recreation Center in Monticello, before a crowd of about 150.

............

Geez I can hardly wait for the daily drone of another cuomo as Governor of ole NY.

I wonder if there will be just ONE NY reporter who will ask cuomo II, what was his contribution to the collapse of the financial markets. Did he foresee any pending doom from the leading practices forced on institutions by the Guber'mint?

Anyone?

Republicans Attack Steele Over Afghan-War Comments PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 03 July 2010 19:59

WASHINGTON—Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele faced calls for his resignation from within his own party Friday after he described the war in Afghanistan as "a war of Obama's choosing" and suggested the U.S. mission there is unwinnable.

His remarks were made at a RNC fund-raiser in Noank, Conn., Thursday and posted shortly afterward on YouTube. "This was not something that the U.S. had actively prosecuted or wanted to engage in," he stated, adding that the mission in Afghanistan may be futile.

Incomplete reporting once again from THR. What is he on parole for?

I checked the sex offender registry for Blooming Grove, which he is not listed in. Also checked the NYS registry, which does not list Level 1 offenders. I guess the state doesn't feel that level one offenses are bad enough for them to assist us in becoming aware of whether or not they live near us.

Well the Mayors behind it, and yes there would need to be a targeted law enforcement effort for sure, But Alan Gerry makes things happen. Gangs traditionally survive in ghetto environments, improve the environment, and they will stick out like a sore thumb and likely take their criminal enteprise elsewhere. But you are right, there will need to be a well funded Task Force to go in there and clean it up. Its not that big an area and could be accomplished. For example you see the same addresses of the apartment complexes all the time in news reports, put a 24/7 police presence in those areas. A strategy of that kind of nature, the appetite wasn't there before perhaps it can be now.

Wouldn't they need cooperation from the local authorities? I frequently read about gang activity out there.
