When I was a kid growing up on Long Island, this was a "sloppy joe".  Just a few years ago, when lunching in New Jersey with some co workers, imagine my horror when I unwrapped a "sloppy joe"  to discover a mess of cold cuts, dressing, cole slaw, and rye bread! I couldn't eat it.

Not sure where the disconnect occurred, but I prefer this one, the genuine sloppy joe.
