Late last night, I was surfing around YouTube with my ten year old daughter. I was showing her clips of some of the old cartoons that I watched -- Peter Potamus, Yippee Yappee and Yahooey, Magilla Gorilla, etc. She's been interested in stop motion animation lately, so I showed her an old Gumby film, "Small Planets".
She fell asleep, and I googled Gumby creator Art Clokey. Ironically, the top search result was a news story telling of his death just the day before at the age of 88.
The first clip is his first stop animation film, "Gumbasia". Hard to believe that it was made in 1953. After that, "Small Planets". Art Clokey, RIP.
Facebook status updates sported several different colors Thursday after a viral campaign swept the internet asking female users to share what color their bras are in an effort to support breast cancer awareness.
"There’s little information about why this spread so quickly,” says Dan Goldstein, President of internet marketing firm Page 1 Solutions.
When I was a kid growing up on Long Island, this was a "sloppy joe". Just a few years ago, when lunching in New Jersey with some co workers, imagine my horror when I unwrapped a "sloppy joe" to discover a mess of cold cuts, dressing, cole slaw, and rye bread! I couldn't eat it.
Not sure where the disconnect occurred, but I prefer this one, the genuine sloppy joe.
